Gainesville man arrested after attacking victim with box cutter and dog over $30 debt

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Napoleon Filer, 64, of Gainesville after he allegedly confronted a bicyclist near his Southwest 61st Street home Sunday evening, accusing the man of owing him $30 from a drug transaction. Filer reportedly chased the victim with a box cutter and directed his dog to attack, leaving the victim with a cut on his cheek and a bite wound on his leg. Deputies also noted that Filer allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened the victim before he fled.
