Felony charge against Hampton councilman Douglas Williamson dismissed

State prosecutors filed a “no information” action against Hampton city councilman Douglas Williamson, and a judge formally closed the felony case on August 13. Williamson had been arrested in June after a neighbor reported being threatened with a firearm. Williamson maintained he was acting to protect his property amid nearby thefts.
