Gainesville man gets 7-year federal sentence after drug and gun arrest

A 30-year-old Gainesville man, Khalil Barnett, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug and firearm charges. The case stemmed from an August domestic disturbance call during which Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Barnett fled and dropped a loaded firearm and roughly 600 grams of marijuana.
