Pastor’s son fails to appear for arraignment on lewd battery charge

Christian David Vargas, 22, whose father leads Ignite Life Center, did not show up Monday for his scheduled first arraignment in Alachua County’s Eighth Judicial Circuit Court. He faces a second-degree felony charge of lewd or lascivious battery involving a victim between the ages of 12 and 16.
